Dr. Jennifer Lecrone
Dr. Jennifer Lecrone is a licensed psychologist in Florida. Areas of expertise include assessment and treatment of anxiety, depression, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, stress in interpersonal/familial relationships, behavioral problems, and parenting challenges. She has provided therapy to children, adults, families, and groups in a variety of settings including hospitals, community mental health centers, university counseling centers, and schools.
During her career, Dr. Lecrone has created and delivered workshops and presentations to teenagers regarding anger management, coping with school performance anxiety, and dealing with peer pressure. She has led several groups, from improving social skills for young children to parenting groups. These parenting groups work to increase effective communication, manage challenging behaviors, help with transitions and adjustments, and improve problem-solving strategies. At schools, she consulted with teachers and participated in IEP Meetings. Given her strong interest in parenting issues, she completed research on the impact of parenting stress on children’s adjustment. Furthermore, she provided training and supervision to psychology doctoral students from several Chicago area graduate programs.
Dr. Lecrone finished her baccalaureate studies in Biology at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia in 1995. At Virginia Commonwealth University, she received her Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology in 2001 and her Doctor of Philosophy degree in Counseling Psychology in 2004. To gain further training in assessment and treatment of children with special needs, she completed a Virginia Leadership Program in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities at the Medical College of Virginia.
In Chicago, Dr. Lecrone completed her internship at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center and her post-doctoral training at the Child and Adolescent Behavioral Health Center at Mount Sinai Hospital. She worked as a Staff Psychologist at Mount Sinai Hospital prior to moving her practice to Tampa, Florida.
Dr. Lecrone holds state licensure as a Psychologist in both Florida and Illinois. She is a member of the Florida Psychological Association and the American Psychological Association.
